 Much has changed at Palau Conservation Society in the last few years, although our strong commitment to Palau’s environment and our communities remains, and continues to grow. Here is some of the “new” news as we continue into 2005.
 Members of PCS elected one new and reelected two Board of Directors Members during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on December 2, 2004. The new Board Member, Julita Tellei, has served on the PCS Board in the past. After the AGM, the Board Members elected new leadership:

Since the meeting, a new vacancy on the Board has been filled by Senator Caleb Otto, MD.

Following the AGM and the election of new Board Members, a new Executive Director was confirmed. The new Executive Director is Tiare Turang Holm, who had been serving as Acting Executive Director and had previously been PCS’s Deputy Director. She replaced Belhaim Sakuma, a PCS founder, who retired from PCS in August 2004.

 PCS celebrated its tenth annivary with fanfare in June 2004. The Society was founded on June 14, 1994. Activities included an open house and banquet attended by founders, members, partners, friends, Board Members, and staff. During the banquet, President Tommy E. Remengesau announced that June 14 would become Palau Conservation Day in honor of the founding of PCS.
 PCS has a number of new programs, targeting both the marine and terrestrial environments. New programs focus on:
